Wedding Planning Guidance, Central Lutheran Church

Congratulations on your engagement!  You are at the beginning of an important journey, and we are honored that you want Central to share in your joy on the day of your wedding.  Here is some information you should know before you begin the marriage preparation process at Central:

• Every wedding at Central Lutheran Church is a public worship service.  The staff is available to offer guidance and help you plan so that what you envision for your wedding will fit within the worship practices of the church.

• It is important to plan in advance.  Central’s calendar fills early.  Members may contact the church 12 months in advance of their requested service date.  Non-members may contact the church 9 months before their requested service date.  You should contact the church no later that 6 months before you hope to have your wedding service.

• The wedding fee for members is $1,050.  For non-members it is $1,350.

• Weddings are generally held on Saturdays at 4 p.m. Central schedules only one wedding per week.  Central does not schedule weddings during the liturgical seasons of Lent or Advent.

• Pre-marital counseling is part of the marriage preparation process at Central.  Couples married at Central are required to schedule counseling sessions with the pastor presiding at the wedding.

• A Central pastor and musician will be assigned to every wedding service held at Central.  The participation of visiting clergy and musicians is permitted at the discretion of the pastor assigned to the service.  The content of the worship service and the musical selections must be approved by a Central pastor and musician.

• Central will assign every couple a wedding coordinator to assist with planning their service. Outside wedding coordinators and planners are not permitted to participate in any aspect of worship service planning in place of the couple.
