Central Lutheran Church, in the heart of the city, welcomes all people to celebrate, discover and share the love of Christ.
We are pleased to announce the details for our second summer of Vacation Bible School at Central, and are excited to welcome children for a fun and meaningful week - complete with Bible lessons, worship and music, games, crafts and field trips!
Children between the ages of preschool (4 to 5 yrs. old) and those entering sixth grade are invited to participate Monday, July 14 to Thursday, July 17. Each day will have a 3-part structure. Mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon will consist of Day Camp, led by trained college counselors from Luther Point Bible Camp. Children will enjoy an array of Day Camp activities, all centering on our 2008 theme, “Just for Life!” Following Day Camp and lunch, Central’s Music Director Mark Sedio, together with Sally Messner, our Children’s Music Coordinator, will lead Music Camp from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Afterwards, the children will have field trips to nearby locations, such as parks and museums, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Parents can then pick up their children at church at 4:00 p.m.

Registration
Beginning April 6, registration forms will be available on Sunday mornings in the South Commons, at the Staff Office, or online (by downloading the Registration Form). April 27 is the registration deadline for Central children and friends. NOTE: The registration cost has been changed to $50 per child (not to exceed $100 per family). Full and partial financial assistance is available upon request.
We are also seeking adult volunteers who may serve in a variety of ways. Depending on your availability, there are several places where you might connect (whether you can spend the whole time with us, or just a portion of the week or part of each day). Opportunities include but are not limited to:
• Serve on a subcommittee (organize field trips, recruit and coordinate volunteers, plan the daily lunch menu, etc.)
• Spend time with the preschool children during Day Camp (games, songs, reading, crafts)
• Help to serve morning snacks and lunch
• Chaperone afternoon field trips
• Help to lead Day Camp activities
Contact Amanda Highben at 612-767-9206 if you have any questions or would like to volunteer.
