Officers and “at-large” Council members are elected at the June Annual Meeting and are given the responsibility for the oversight and governing of the life of our church. Richard is a longtime member of Central. He has served as a communion minister, attended Men's Fellowship, and volunteered for Central's Habitat for Humanity project. He would like to see more people from the downtown area come to worship. Dick has recently retired from his law practice and has been enjoying his children and grandchildren with his wife, Linda.
Bill became a member of Central Lutheran Church in 1990. “Setting the standards” for worship, preaching and music, plus the opportunity to belong to a talented and diverse congregation made Central the most meaningful setting for him. Bill has served as a member of the Fiscal and Property Committee, the Facilities Revitalization Task Force and the Personnel Committee, for which he is the current chair. Professionally for the last 22 years, Bill has worked with non-profit boards of town homes and condominiums. Bill is a Certified Property Manager [CPM], Certified Manager of Community Associations [CMCA], a Licensed Real Estate Broker and Building Contractor, a commissioner on the Roseville HRA, and an Institute of Real Estate Management [IREM] national faculty member.

Mark was born in Thief River Falls, Mn and attended college at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. Mark has two adult children, David and Bethany, and he lives in Minneapolis.
Kathryn Holum is a longtime member of Central and says she is honored to serve as secretary of the Congregation Council. She and husband Lance operate a catering company and have two young daughters, a key motivation for her as a member of Central's team of Sunday School teachers. Also involved in communion ministry, Kathryn definitely has a full plate on Sunday mornings.
John attended Central during his college days at the University of Minnesota and met his wife Judy at Central. After raising their family in suburban Lutheran churches, they joined Central in 1998. He served on the Board of Trustees during the 1990's, has been an active member of Central's music program for many years, and participates in prayers and as a lector at worship. John would like to see the Central membership stabilize and begin to grow again as the vision and mission statements are implemented.
As a longtime member of Central, Jeff sees Central's mission as service to the community. He served as chair of the recent Senior Pastor Call Committee and has been active in communion ministry. He is a retired school administrator, now enjoying the time he spends with his toddler grandson.
A lifetime member of Central,
Simon Husbands, and his wife Janet, have been members of Central since 1998. They participate, with their young sons Freddy and Henry, as Greeters and Communion Processors. Simon, who moved here from his native England, works as a piano technician, web design business owner, and composer. He has formerly worked for Her Majesty's Government and Schmitt Music Company.
David would like to see Central’s vision statement come alive. One way is to attract the 32,000 persons who live downtown. He retired from being a chancellor of the University of Minnesota-Morris. He has led many hiking adventures locally and globally.
Christopher Lyle's first experience at Central was memorable: on that occasion, he met Kari, who became his wife! They are parents of daughter Marit, born in 2005. Chris is employed with a medical firm and is looking forward to service on the Congregation Council.
Joyce Anderson, and her husband Chuck, became members of Central Lutheran Church in 1998. They felt at home immediately and were attracted to the wonderful music, the excellent preaching, the diversity, and the many opportunities for service. Joyce states, "God has blessed me with wonderful friends and opportunities to serve Him that have enriched my life." She has served on the Evangelism Committee, New Member Ministry Team, Nominating Committee and Task Force D (Chair). In addition to the Council, she currently serves as Personnel Committee Chair, Communion Worship Minister, Lector, Pray-er, Member of the CLCW Investment Club and on the Central Lutheran Church Foundation Board.
